Is it worth becoming a trading specialist?

I've been trading for a while now, and I keep hearing about how beneficial it can be to niche down and really become a specialist in one area, whether it's options, forex, or something else. But I'm wondering if it's really worth the time and energy to focus so much on one thing. Do you think specializing helps with profitability, or is it better to have a wider range of skills? I know some traders swear by it, while others seem to do just fine without that deep dive. What has been your experience? Any insights on the pros and cons would be super helpful!
