Is Tax Deferred Really Worth It for Traders?

I've been hearing a lot about tax-deferred accounts like IRAs and 401(k)s lately, and I'm curious what you all think. As a trader, I'm torn between wanting to maximize my short-term gains and the potential benefits of keeping my investments in a tax-deferred space. Do any of you actively use these types of accounts for trading?

I get that it can help with long-term growth since you won’t owe taxes until you withdraw, but I wonder if it limits my trading strategies or even my ability to access my funds when I need them. Would love to hear your experiences, tips, or any downsides you've faced with tax-deferred trading!
