Is it worth investing in cheap stocks right now?

I’ve been looking at some cheap stocks lately, and I’m torn. On one hand, it’s super tempting to dive into companies trading low, especially if there's a potential for a rebound. But then I think about all those “penny stocks” that just fizzle out. I’ve heard some traders having great luck with them, but I've also seen people get burned.

For those of you who have taken the plunge, how do you find the right cheap stocks? Do you stick to certain sectors, or do you just go with your gut? Also, how much research do you usually do before buying in? Would love to hear your experiences!
