Is it worth investing with a fund manager?

I’ve been doing some research on fund managers lately and I’m torn about whether it’s a smart move. I know they can potentially provide expertise and help diversify my investments, but I’ve also heard mixed reviews about their fees and performance. Some friends swear by their fund managers, while others feel like they could do just as well on their own. Have any of you had personal experiences with fund managers? Did you find it worthwhile, or did you end up wishing you had managed your own portfolio? I’d love to hear both the good and the bad before I make any decisions!
