Is investing in private stock really worth it?

I've been hearing a lot about private stock investments lately, and I can't help but wonder if it's just a trend or something substantial. Some friends say it could be a great way to get in early on companies before they go public, but others warn it can be super risky and illiquid. I know you don't get the same kind of financial reporting as with public companies, which makes it tricky to evaluate. Have any of you invested in private stocks? What was your experience like? Did you use any specific platforms or networks to find opportunities? Any insights or advice would be super helpful as I'm trying to figure out if this is a path worth exploring!

I've dipped my toes into private stock investing and it can be a wild ride! I found some opportunities through crowdfunding platforms, but you definitely need to do your homework since the risks are higher and the details can be murky. Just be ready for the fact that you might not see returns for years, if at all. It's not for everyone, but it can be rewarding if you believe in the companies you're backing.
