What Do You Think About Housing Developers Right Now?

I've been following the housing market closely, and I've noticed a lot of buzz around housing developers lately. Some of my friends are saying they’re kind of the villains in the story with rising prices and all, while others think they’re just meeting the demand. I’m trying to figure out where I stand on this.

On one hand, I get that they’re building more homes to tackle the housing shortage, but it seems like a lot of new developments are priced way out of reach for average buyers. Is it just the market or are these developers really prioritizing profit over community needs? Has anyone here worked in or invested in housing development?
